No . 586 MONOTONICITY OF CHI - SQUARE TEST STATISTICS
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper establishes monotonicity of the chi-square test statistic. As the more efficient parameter estimator is plugged into the test statistic, the degrees of freedom of the resulting chi-square test statistic monotonically increase.

The aim of this study was to determine the prevalence of depression, anxiety and phobia during pregnancy in Ahwaz. For this purpose, 360 pregnant and 60 nonpregnant women, who were referred to the public hospitals and private out-patient clinics were selected through cluster sampling. All of the subjects completed the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI). Data were analyzed by des...
متن کاملSOME THEORY AND PRACTICE OF STATISTICS by Howard G. Tucker CHAPTER 10. NONPARAMETRIC STATISTICAL INFERENCE
10.1 The Chi-square Goodness of Fit Test. The general area of nonparametric statistical inference deals with statistical procedures such as hypothesis testing, point estimation and confidence intervals in problems where the parent distribution has no known functional form. For one reason or another, the chi-square goodness of fit test is considered to be in this area, and so we present it here....

BACKGROUND Our study used data collected in Chung-Hsing Village to evaluate the relationship between hyperuricemia and the cardiovascular risk factors and the socio-demographic factors in the elderly in May 1998. METHODS All individuals aged 65 and over were studied. A total of 1093 subjects, out of 1774 registered residents, were contacted by face-to-face interview. The response rate was 61....
متن کاملOn the Multivariate Asymptotic Distribution of Sequential Chi-square Statistics
The multivariate asymptotic distribution of sequential Chi-square test statistics is investigated. It is shown that: (a) when sequential Chi-square statistics are calculated for nested models on the same data, the statistics have an asymptotic intercorrelation which may be expressed in closed form, and which is, in many cases, quite high; and (b) sequential Chi-square difference tests are asymp...
متن کاملA Scaled Di erence Chi-square Test Statistic for Moment Structure Analysis
A family of scaling corrections aimed to improve the chi-square approximation of goodness-oft test statistics in small samples, large models, and nonnormal data was proposed in Satorra and Bentler (1994). For structural equations models, Satorra-Bentler's (SB) scaling corrections are available in standard computer software. Often, however, the interest is not on the overall t of a model, but on...
